The main thing about this burner that distinguished it from the others was the ability to play VHS from the Component outputs. That feature is very handy for a pro-editor, like me, who wants to get the best image possible from the inferior VHS format.This feature has also allowed this deck, now that it has retired, that could easily be used by families who are not so tech savvy (both DVD and VHS play from the same Component-Out, so there is no reason to change inputs on the screen ). Other than that, I have to agree with many of the others here.8x drive limit is a major sore spot for me, as poor reliability of the burned DVDs in general ...
